Technical solutions for the built environment.

DoubleDay Engineering combines design, investigation, inspection, construction management and field execution. The point is not to produce drawings that stop at the permit counter. The point is to solve the technical problem and carry it through construction.

IN THE FIELD

Francisco Rubio and the SW 7th Street utility operation.

Recent work has required the team to execute in tight nighttime windows while coordinating excavation, utility crews, inspectors, roadway access and restoration requirements.

Francisco Rubio has been the field connection between the engineering plan and the crews performing the work. The operation included tapping an existing 12-inch water main, installing a 6-inch fire hydrant line and a 4-inch fire sprinkler service, and coordinating excavation, inspections, traffic constraints and restoration under the strict requirements of FDOT and Miami-Dade WASD.

Current field scope: roadway excavation, underground utility installation, inspections, compaction and restoration coordination.
