Engineering a clear path from violation to compliance.
When a property receives a building or code-enforcement violation, the real problem is usually not the notice itself. The problem is figuring out exactly what must be inspected, designed, repaired, permitted and documented to get the case closed.
We handle the technical side of the violation.
DoubleDay Engineering works with owners, contractors, property managers and attorneys to evaluate cited conditions, prepare corrective engineering, coordinate required repairs and provide the documentation needed for agency review.
What we can help with
Structural violations and unsafe conditions; unpermitted construction; expired permits; legalization of existing work; recertification deficiencies; required structural repairs; electrical, plumbing and MEP violations; change-of-use and occupancy issues; engineering affidavits, letters and signed-and-sealed plans; and technical responses to municipal inspectors.
Our process
1. Review the notice. We identify what the agency is actually requiring and separate technical issues from administrative ones.
2. Inspect the property. We document existing conditions and determine what can remain, what must be repaired and what requires design or permitting.
3. Prepare the engineering response. This may include drawings, calculations, repair details, engineering letters, affidavits or permit documents.
4. Coordinate corrective work. Where needed, we work with the contractor and inspector so the repair matches the engineering intent.
5. Close the technical loop. We provide the final engineering documentation needed to support compliance and case closure.
Where is the violation?

The faster we understand the cited condition, the faster we can define the real path to closure.
