SELECTED WORK

What the work actually looks like.

Field conditions, structural deficiencies, repairs, utility construction and active-site execution. Each photograph below is tied to the scope it documents — no stock project imagery.

INFRASTRUCTURE & UTILITIES · SW 7TH STREET

12-inch main. 6-inch hydrant. 4-inch fire service.

Night work on a state roadway under FDOT and Miami-Dade WASD requirements.

DoubleDay Engineering coordinated the field work associated with tapping an existing 12-inch water main to supply a new 6-inch fire hydrant line and 4-inch fire sprinkler service. The work required nighttime excavation, inspection coordination, active roadway controls, utility sequencing and restoration.

Francisco Rubio is shown in the field coordinating the operation during the nighttime work window.

Roadway excavation. Wide field view showing trench limits, temporary plating and excavation inside the restricted nighttime work period.
CODE COMPLIANCE · RECERTIFICATION · EXISTING BUILDINGS

Document the condition. Engineer the repair.

Code violation engineering →

These field photographs show the type of deterioration that drives code-compliance, unsafe-condition and building-recertification work: failed concrete cover, exposed reinforcing steel, cracking and damaged stair elements. The engineering value is not the photograph — it is defining why the condition occurred, what must be repaired and what documentation the authority requires.

Concrete deterioration with exposed and corroded reinforcing steel at an existing building
Concrete deterioration. Loss of concrete cover with exposed and visibly corroded reinforcing steel at an existing exterior element.
Multiple areas of concrete spalling and exposed reinforcing steel at an existing structure
Spalling and reinforcement exposure. Multiple localized failures requiring repair limits and reinforcing condition to be evaluated.
Existing concrete stair with damaged tread and localized concrete loss
Stair deterioration. Localized concrete damage at the stair assembly requiring repair assessment and safe-condition review.
Cracked and damaged concrete stair element in an existing building
Cracking and section loss. Visible crack propagation and damaged concrete at an existing stair element.
Typical engineering response: field inspection · deficiency documentation · repair details · signed-and-sealed plans where required · contractor coordination · follow-up inspection · compliance/recertification closeout support
INDUSTRIAL STRUCTURAL REPAIR

Loading dock rehabilitation in an active facility.

Structural repair work performed around an operating loading dock. The photographs document the existing dock condition, steel repair/welding and field execution at the opening.

Field welding and repair work at industrial loading dock platform
Field execution. Welding and repair work performed directly at the dock platform while maintaining the existing facility interface.
STRUCTURAL REPAIR & REINFORCEMENT

Opening reconstruction from demolition through reinforcement.

This sequence documents reconstruction around an existing structural opening: temporary support and layout, concrete/masonry removal, exposed reinforcing, new reinforcement placement and field fabrication.

Repair execution. Crew completing the reinforced structural repair at the opening.
UNDERGROUND UTILITIES · SITE EXECUTION

Excavation, backfill and active-site coordination.

Daytime field work documenting underground utility installation and site restoration activities. These photographs are kept separate from the SW 7th Street project above rather than assigning them to the wrong job.
