Miami, Florida – DoubleDay Engineering joined representatives from Federal Detention Center Miami (FDC) on Jan 12thto begin the cement restoration of the Chalet building at FDCa Miami. DoubleDay is serving as the design and build engineering firm on the project.
Built-in 1995, the detention center was designed for a capacity of 1,259 inmates. The facility primarily houses prisoners of the U.S. Marshals Service, both male, and female. Its mission is to provide safe and humane confinement of inmates and detainees, many of whom are involved in federal court proceedings in the Southern District of Florida. In addition to the cement restoration, the project also includes the repair of the roofing system at the Chalet.
